Summer Poker Run 2025
in the Sugar River Valley
Collect one physical playing card (or a photo of a stationary card at select locations) to add to your 5-Card Poker Hand at each stop throughout the region, with Grand Prizes to be distributed at the end of the challenge, plus Weekly Mini-Prizes. Submit a photo of your 5-Card Poker Hand via the Participant Page for a chance to win. For the best chance at a winning hand, visit as many different stops as you can. Categories for different stops include:

Local Businesses: Farmer’s Markets, Restaurants, Breweries, Coffee Shops, Bakeries, etc.

Outdoor Recreation: Visitor Centers, Trailheads, Bike shops, Outdoor Outfitters, Gear Rental shops, etc.

Local Attractions: Cave of the Mounds, Swiss Heritage sites in New Glarus, the Trollway in Mount Horeb, and other historical or quirky sites
Join us this July in a fun-filled, month-long competition across the Sugar River Valley region, which includes the towns of Verona, New Glarus, Mount Horeb, Paoli, and more. Engage with local businesses, explore the region’s natural beauty, and create lasting memories as you compete to collect the best 5-Card Poker Hand for a chance to win an epic Grand Prize of $1,000 CASH MONEY!
How It works

Grand prizes
All participants who submit at least one 5-Card Poker Hand by the end of July are eligible for Grand Prizes.

1st Place (Best Poker Hand): $1,000 cash

2nd Place (Second-Highest Hand): Local experience package, valued at $500+

3rd Place (Third-Highest Hand): Local business gift cards or event ticket, valued at $200+
In the case that more than one person has the same hand, a winner will be drawn at random between the tied hands.
Weekly Mini-Prizes
Each time you submit a 5-Card Poker Hand, you’ll be entered into a weekly drawing for a mini prize (e.g., free drink at a brewery, $10 local gift card, event merch, etc.).​
Can i collect extra cards?
Yes!
If you pick up an extra card that improves your previous 5-Card Poker Hand submission, you can submit a new and improved 5-Card Poker Hand to increase your chances of winning a Grand Prize. Plus, each additional submission will earn you an extra entry into the drawing for Weekly Mini-Prizes.

No registration is required. Simply start visiting the locations on the map above beginning on July 1 to collect poker cards!

Once you have a 5-Card Poker Hand, submit a photo of your full 5-Card Hand through the Participant Page or directly through this form.

Weekly Mini-Prize winners and Grand Prize winners will be announced on our Facebook Event Page, so follow the page to stay in the know. (Winners will also be notified directly by email).
